Arizona
Integration.
Supporting rescued Afghan refugees and unaccompanied minors through creative empowerment and trauma relief since 2021.
Local Impact
From Transit to Transformation.
As the Taliban conducted their swift take-over of Afghanistan, hundreds of thousands fled for their lives. Starting in the Fall of 2021, PTMI mobilized to provide a comprehensive program for families trapped in the limbo of resettlement.
Our women’s classes were groundbreaking. A new sense of empowerment swept through the group, and the class exploded in popularity, growing to over 25 women at a time.
Program Reach
Targeted Communities.
New Americans from Afghanistan

Unaccompanied Minors
Partnering with Catholic Charities Community Services to provide musical outlets and summer programs for vulnerable youth.
After-School Afghan Youth

Voices from the Class
"We were very depressed when we arrived in the US... When you started the ukulele classes, it changed our mindset so we could stay away from depression and stress."
"They love it and say it is very good that we are learning something new, because in Afghanistan it was almost impossible for women to learn music."
